Bitcoins stolen during the Bitfinex hack in 2016 have just moved

Whale alert released the information on May 22 in the early afternoon. These are exactly 28.39 BTC (i.e. 265,000 euros), from Bitfinex hack in 2016, who have been moved to a unknown wallet. The opportunity for the community to speculate on a possible fall in the price in the coming days.

It is not the first time that the bitcoins from this hack have moved. In June 2019, it is close to 172 bitcoins who had moved in 5 transactions also reported by Whale Alert. Bitfinex had attempted to contact the thief hoping to find common ground and try to persuade him to return at least part of the money.

August 3, 2016, 119,756 BTC were stolen from the platform Bitfinex. At the time, this amounted to around € 75 million. The theft caused an 8% drop in the price of bitcoin within 24 hours, and then about 20% in the days that followed.
