The developers of Bitcoin Core have just announced the release of the version 0.20.1 software. This is a minor release including various bug fixes and performance improvements, as well as updated translations.
– It is recommended to verify, on several sources, the key which cryptographically signs the digital fingerprint of the binary files of Bitcoin Core.
– To update the software it is advisable to turn off Bitcoin Core making sure to either wait for a complete shutdown (which can take several minutes with older versions) before running the installer.
– If this is a first installation, Bitcoin Core will download the entire transaction log. Make sure you have enough bandwidth and disk space (the registry is currently just under 300 GB). Be careful, if you are a beginner, Bitcoin Core is probably not the best solution for you. It is best to start with a light application.
Bitcoin Core is open source software released under MIT license.
